This article aims to contribute to the debate about the need to have public policies to attend the access of indigenous peoples to communication. From the recognition that this right not only strengthens culturally the native communities, but also allows channeling their political and socioeconomic needs. For this, is presented the experience of the communication policy and indigenous peoples implemented by Paraguay between the years 2012-2013, as from a case study of an indigenous radio of Avá Guaraní community, located Curuguaty district of Paraguay.
