Si la télé-réalité a fait l’objet de travaux en sciences humaines et sociales, rares sont ceux qui se sont attachés à comprendre la manière dont un contenu télévisuel de ce genre est fabriqué. C’est donc cette dimension que cet article entend explorer pour comprendre les conditions de production d’un discours médiatique sur le mariage hétérosexuel en Pologne. Il s’appuie sur l’ethnographie de la circulation transnationale du format télévisuel Mariés au premier regard et de son adaptation locale en Pologne. Cet article analyse ainsi les médiations à l’œuvre pour la circulation de cette marchandise et la manière dont les personnes engagées dans la production de la version polonaise donnent sens à ce qu’elles font. Il propose finalement d’étudier comment l’émission polonaise participe à la réification du mariage hétérosexuel en tant qu’idéal normatif.

Although reality television has been a subject of research in the humanities and social sciences, few studies have focused on the ways in which such television content is produced. That is therefore the dimension that this article explores, to gain insight into the conditions of production of a media discourse on heterosexual marriage in Poland. The article is based on the ethnography of the transnational circulation of the Married at First Sight TV format and its local adaptation in Poland. It analyses the mediations at work in the circulation of this commodity and the way in which the people involved in the production of the Polish version give meaning to what they do. Finally, it looks at how the Polish series participates in the reification of heterosexual marriage as a normative ideal.
