Dryopteris pallida subsp. pallida had been discovered in Corsica in the early XXth century and since then only known from herbarium specimens. It was recently rediscovered in the wild in the same area, in the vicinity of Corte, and cytologically confirmed as diploid.

Découvert en Corse au début du XXe siècle, et seulement connu depuis par des récoltes d’herbier, Dryopteris pallida subsp. pallida vient d’être redécouvert dans la même région des environs de Corte et la plante a été confirmée cytologiquement comme diploïde.
