Résumé
For a long time now, one report after another has aimed at making our health care system more efficient, often with recommendations that reinforce the previous ones. And yet we are still far from achieving this increased efficiency. To get out of this rut, this paper proposes that we need to have the courage to uncompromisingly support the aim of care and “caring,” and that we need to think under the constraint of operationality. We can do so by seeking to take good first steps, by ensuring the quality of the decision-making process, by accurately identifying convergences and divergences, by resolutely opting for subsidiarity, by thinking about complexity without adopting complex solutions, and by encouraging ethical questioning.
