El texto aborda la relación entre los llamados estudios culturales y las agendas en curso de algunos de tales campos; particularmente el de la psicología social construccionista y el de los estudios de género en psicología. Parte de considerar los cambios cualitativos tanto en el estatuto de cultura como en los objetos de las ciencias operados a partir de mediados del siglo XX, los cuales ponen de presente su carácter de construcciones históricas que se transforman o incluso desaparecen en el tiempo. Lo anterior implica la reconsideración de la noción de cultura de forma que ya no aluda al conjunto de costumbres y sistemas de convivencia ligados a una lengua y a un territorio particular. En ese contexto, le asigna a la psicología la tarea de reinventarnos para evitar la aniquilación, lo cual implica la transformación cultural de la concepción del yo, cuyo punto de partida es la consideración de la narración y el relato como metáforas para lo psíquico. Plantea tres caminos que se han abierto y se vienen fortaleciendo para la transformación del yo, al tiempo que se produce la reconceptualización de la psicología y de su potencial cultural: las prácticas en el mundo social, la crítica cultural, y la construcción de nuevos mundos. Finalmente, señala al género como categoría crítica que contribuye a la configuración de un estatuto para la investigación social. La perspectiva de género permite abordar procesos e instituciones sociales que no sólo tienen potencialmente el poder para pautar las reglas de la interacción social entre distintas posiciones de sujeto, sino para regular la producción de distintas subjetividades. Señala algunas prácticas psicológicas con capacidad potencial para la transformación del yo: una hermenéutica de las prácticas cotidianas, y el acompañamiento de redes sociales locales, el desarrollo de estrategias de aprendizaje colaborativo.

The text approaches the relationship between Cultural Studies and current agendas of some the fields of psychology, particularly those of constructivist psychology and gender studies. It sets off by considering qualitative shifts both in the statute of culture and in the objects of science since mid-nineteenth century, which reveal their character as historical constructions that are transformed and even disappear in time. This implies reconsidering the notion of culture, in a way such that it no longer refers to a set of customs and cohabitation systems attached to a particular language and a specific territory. In this context, the article assigns psychology the task of reinventing humankind in order to avoid annihilation, which requires the cultural transformation of the notion of the I. The staring point for this transformation is the consideration of narrative and tale as metaphors for the psychic. The article presents three ways that have been opened and increasingly strengthened in the transformation of the I, at the same time that both psychology and its cultural potential are reconceptualized: practice in the social world, cultural criticism, and the construction of new worlds. Finally, the article presents gender as the critical category that contributes to the configuration of a statute for social research. As a perspective, gender allows for an approach of both processes and social institutions that no only have the power to rule social interaction between diverse subject positions, but also to regulate the production of different subjectivities. The article points at different psychological practices potentially able to transform the I: a hermeneutics of daily practice and the accompaniment of local social networks, the development of collaborative learning.
