Justine Simon, « Virality of #Chadolf #Kitler : chiaroscuro ambivalence », HAL SHS (Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société), ID : 10.1515/9783111311371-007
In the dual dynamic of studies in digital communication and digital discourse analysis, the aim of this study is to understand the ambivalence of the memetic circulation of #Chadolf #Kitler on digital social networks. A corpus of 447 publications ambiguously associating cat images with Nazi symbols was constructed from Twitter, Instagram and TikTok to analyze these forms of anthropomorphism. The article sheds light on the different ways in which this imagery has been reappropriated to serve distinct ideological positions.
