Gaining recognition in the performing arts. The positioning of discourse and institutional support for artists with disabilities

Over the past twenty years or so, the presence of actors with learning or psychic disabilities has been recognized in the theatrical field, and various performances featuring these performers are now a regular fixture at festivals and national theaters. The author examines the existing mechanisms that enable disabled artists to perform in live shows. How do the medical and social organizations that support these projects manage to develop both a stance and a discourse based on complex strategies aimed at gaining recognition for their activities in the artistic field?
