This article reports on the group issues involved in the multifocal care given to an adolescent within the association OSE (Œuvre de Secours aux Enfants—Children’s Aid Society). We question the notion of faith in a therapeutic support group for adolescents. In one of its dimensions, the question of faith is thought to be an obstacle to the care process, a failure related to defense mechanisms when faced with outsiders. How can faith be a defense mechanism for the adolescent? Is it a case of faith or credulity? The development and analysis of Yigdal’s case will underline the unconscious alliances and resonances with regard to faith within the group. It will capture the transformation of group faith into an individual credulity, which is built as a defense mechanism against otherness and the process of adolescent subjectivation.
