Résumé 0

This study examines the links between anorexic girls and their siblings, at the date of the diagnosis and two months afterwards. The protocol covered 47 research interviews with anorexic patients and one of their brothers or sisters. The results show that anorexia has a strong impact on the fraternal bonding, and should be accounted for during treatment. In short, the study shows the need to educate siblings about the illness, to help them overcome their own suffering during their sister’s illness and finally further explore the patient’s fraternal bonds.
