By proposing an original rereading of the work of Michel Henry based on Schelling ’s project to establish a history of consciousness as it autoeffects internal representations, the limited objective of this article is to propose an epistemological reflection on the birth of the phenomenology of history and on the conditions for a knowledge of history. More specifically, the aim is to highlight a philosophical gesture common to Schelling ’s Philosophy of Mythology and Henry’s Philosophy of Christianity. This gesture consists in seeking in history the representation of the origin of subjectivity or, in other words, to reread the genesis of subjectivity in the historic destiny of life (transl. J. Dudley).

En proposant une relecture originale de l’œuvre henryenne en fonction du projet schellingien d’une histoire de la conscience telle qu’elle s’auto-affecte de représentations internes, l’objectif limité de cet article est de proposer une réflexion épistémologique sur la naissance de la phénoménologie de l’histoire et sur les conditions d’un savoir de l’histoire. Plus spécifiquement, il s’agit de mettre en évidence un geste philosophique commun à la Philosophie de la Mythologie de Schelling et à la Philosophie du Christianisme de Henry. Ce geste consiste à chercher dans l’histoire la figuration de l’origine de la subjectivité ou, dit autrement, à relire la genèse de la subjectivité dans le destin historique de la vie.
