"Between the “ Idle Mob” and the “ Economic Exploitation” : Poor Citizens in the Athenian Democracy. New reflections Upon an Old Problem". The present work assesses the economic relations and the patronage system in classical Athens aiming to define the exploitation of the poorest citizens. The main core of the study is the historiographic interpretation of the interpersonal dependency, highlighting the differences between new and old reflections.
