The «empathy methodological» in social workThis article aims to describe a technique of inquiry related to the track ethnological particularly suited to the research in or on the social work that is the «empathy methodological». The social work is primarily a regular activity, own relational to the existence of the human being in society. The «sharing of the sensitive» of social workers with the public is no longer to be perceived as an activity limiting the research in or on the social work, but as a form of special knowledge that can be support to a dynamic research. Empathy is therefore a posture of ground, but it can also become a methodological tool that can be deployed by the «practitioner-researcher». For this reason, it is essential that the researcher in social work linked these sensitive data for scientific knowledge.

Cet article vise à décrire une technique d’enquête liée à la voie ethnologique particulièrement adaptée à la recherche en ou sur le travail social qu’est l’« empathie méthodologique ». Le travail social est avant tout une activité ordinaire, propre à l’existence relationnelle même de l’homme en société. Le « partage du sensible » des travailleurs sociaux avec le public n’est plus à percevoir comme une activité limitant la recherche en ou sur le travail social, mais comme une forme de connaissance particulière pouvant être support à une dynamique de recherche. L’empathie est donc une posture de terrain, mais elle peut également devenir un outil méthodologique pouvant être déployé par le « praticien-chercheur ». Pour cela, il est indispensable que le chercheur en travail social lie ces données sensibles à des savoirs scientifiques.
