This essay elaborates certain Lacanian conceptions—Name-of-the-Father, fundamental fantasy—with the complex questions taken into account by the construction of the theory of the drive in the work of Freud, conceived by himself in three fundamental steps. From the sexual drive to the death drive, the path traversed by Freud can be associated in a very instructive way with the Lacanian journey from the symbolic to the real.

Cet essai élabore certaines conceptions lacaniennes – Nom-du-Père, fantasme fondamental – avec les questions complexes prises en compte par la construction de la théorie de la pulsion dans l’œuvre de Freud, conçue par lui-même dans trois pas fondamentaux. De la pulsion sexuelle à la pulsion de mort, le chemin traversé par Freud peut être associé d’une façon fort instructive au parcours lacanien du symbolique au réel.
