Tania Collani, « Carlo Bo lettore dei surrealisti francesi : la poesia, la vita e la verità », HAL-SHS : littérature, ID : 10670/1.ea69nr
Carlo Bo was an Italian literary critic who admired Maritain, Mauriac and Claudel’s writings, and who was not prone to the revolutionary tones characterizing some phases of Surrealism. Yet, on several occasions he defended the group led by André Breton, despite the widespread skepticism vis-à-vis of surrealist poetry dominating the Italian cultural milieu of 1930s-40s. This is why Carlo Bo's approach to Surrealism was somewhat revolutionary in Italy at that time.
