Starting from the philosophical work of Paul Ricœur, the article explores the notion of attestation in order to discuss the perception of knowledge and the trust in science in a context of crisis. The attestation leads to a specific form of trust, which supposes the division of the subject and some lack of guarantee. The attestation can therefore be contrasted with the propagation, belonging to the imaginary order, of scienticist fantaisies on the one hand, and conspiracy theories on the other hand – both aiming to reduce the indetermination of the crisis to an absolute certainty.

L'article explore la notion d'attestation à partir de la philosophie de Paul Ricoeur pour questionner le rapport au savoir et à la science en contexte de crise. L'attestation témoigne d'une forme de confiance construite chez un sujet divisé en l'absence de garantie : elle peut ainsi être opposée aux proliférations imaginaires du fantasme scientiste d'une part et des constructions conspirationnistes d'autre part, qui cherchent à réduire l'indétermination d'un moment de crise à l'absolu d'une certitude.
