This paper seeks to identify objective indicators for representations of the pig (Sus scrofa scrofa). Because of incompleteness in the archaeological evidence from the standpoint of iconography, we can make do with biology and iconographic techniques to identify these indicators.

Dans cet article, nous nous intéresserons aux indices objectifs aptes à permettre l’identification du cochon (Sus scrofa scrofa). Pour obtenir ces indices et du fait du caractère incomplet de notre étude archéologique, ici orientée sur l’iconographie, nous nous contenterons de recourir à la biologie et aux outils iconographiques.
