The craft activities identified in the small towns of the Centre region allows to have a good knowledge of the various types of production, metal, animal material, ceramic and glass craft, and their distribution within the housing environment. The variety of the craft activities varies from a site to the other one, with specialized settlements and the others the variety of the productions of which moves closer to them to what we can observe in the capitals. The distribution of the productions is differently dreaded according to the studied materials. The analysis of these productions allows to argue within the framework of the problem concerning the typological and hierarchical classification of the small towns, since the end of the Iron Age to the Late Empire.

L’état des connaissances des activités artisanales identifiées dans les agglomérations de la région Centre permet aujourd’hui de connaître les différents types de production, artisanats des métaux, travail des matières animales, de la céramique et du verre, et leur répartition au sein de l’habitat. La diversité des activités artisanales varie d’un site à l’autre, avec des agglomérations spécialisées et d’autres dont la variété des productions les rapproche de ce que l’on peut observer dans les capitales de cité. La diffusion des productions est appréhendée différemment selon les matériaux étudiés. L’analyse de ces productions permet d’argumenter dans le cadre de la problématique concernant le classement typologique et hiérarchique des agglomérations depuis la fin de l’âge du Fer jusqu’au Bas-Empire.
