Dans le champ du sport, il est avant tout question du corps et de sa perfectibilité qui passe par une volonté d’augmenter ses performances. Le sport, qu’il soit ou non de compétition, est toujours associé à un dépassement des limites. Pour cela, tous les moyens sont bons et nous assistons aujourd’hui à une sorte de banalisation non seulement du dopage, mais aussi des techniques d’augmentation, telles les prothèses. Ce phénomène nous amène notamment à discuter de la frontière qui existe entre soigner et augmenter, souvent décrite comme la porte d’entrée du transhumanisme dans le domaine de la santé. Si à ce culte de la performance dans le domaine sportif s’ajoute l’introduction de plus en plus prégnante de la technologie, voire du virtuel, on peut se demander si le sport ne serait pas de fait le cheval de Troie du transhumanisme. C’est ce que cet entretien propose d’explorer. Nous partirons donc du modèle sportif pour voir comment et dans quelle mesure ce culte du franchissement de la limite rend le sport vulnérable à une offre technologique qui ne vise pas simplement le sport mais concerne tout le projet transhumaniste du dépassement de l’humain.

The field of sport, priority is the body and its excellence and this involves the will. Sport, competitive or not, is always associated with exceeding limits. To archive this, any means are good and today we are seeing the increased use not only of doping, but also of augmentation techniques, such as prosthes. These new phenomena lead us, among other things, to discuss the border-line that exists between care and growth, often described as the gateway to transhumanism in the field of health. If such a cult of performance in the field of sport is added to the (increasingly significant) introduction of technology, and even virtual technology, one may be led to wonder whether sport would in fact become the Trojan horse of transhumanism. This is what this interview sets out to explore. We shall therefore begin with discussing the sport model to see how and in what way the cult of exceeding limits weakens sport and opens the way to a technological proposition whose target is not just sport, but also the whole transhumanist project of going beyond the human.
