We can be rich in all manner of things—friends, knowledge, ideas, wisdom, and so on. Likewise, poverty takes many forms. Beyond material deprivation, it is interesting to look at poverty from the angle of social hierarchies, consumer models, and even the norms of good parenting that underpin our society.
