Résumé 0

Jacques Bouveresse, who died in 2021, shared with Pierre Bourdieu a number of common points: a similar social and academic trajectory, an attachment to rationality and an absolute dislike of cynicism, whether intellectual or political, to name only the main. We approach these different points by also showing that the ideal of freedom through knowledge professed by Bourdieu did not quite convince Bouveresse for whom the moral dimension of any activity, especially intellectual, must be constantly reaffirmed.
