Résumé
As the adolescent is compelled to assimilate new perceptive data, drawing provides a useful medium to explore the process of psychological development. The article examines the use of sketching for an adolescent undergoing therapy involving three components: a regredient movement taking up precocious, rhythmic and sensorial subjective methods, transitional experimentation with the squiggle and finally opening out to a figurative way of thinking. The creative co-construction of mental layers and the introjection of a containing object provide the leitmotiv running through the study into this process.
