Sophie Van Laer, « Quelle valeur pour le préverbe des verbes en -sco ? L’exemple de ad-,in- et ob- », MOM Éditions, ID : 10670/1.f9pgq4
What is the meaning of a preverb in association with the sco-verbs? According to the traditional view, the preverb has an aspectual meaning: for G. Haverling 2000, p. 453, ad-, in-, and ob-are “ingressive” preverbs. But another analysis seems to be possible, based on the articulation between lexical meaning of the verb and spatial representation of the preverb. Then, it appears that the preverb characterizes the scope of the process, especially the way one of the entities (often expressed by the first argument) is affected.
