Sophie Large, « Una memoria polifónica: Música e interculturalidad en "Limón Blues" y "Limón Reggae" de Anacristina Rossi », HAL SHS (Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société), ID : 10670/1.fa17e8...
In this article focusing on two novels by Costa Rican writer Anacristina Rossi, "Limón Blues" and "Limón Reggae", I intend to analyze how music — a paramount element in these novels — plays a prominent role in identity formation, intercultural relationships, and the representation of memory in subaltern communities. My analysis will address the process by which music enables identification with a community, the symbolic dimension of musical motifs, and the narrative and stylistic features which, as they mimic specific musical styles and genres, work as metaphors of a polyphonic memory.
