Clovis Maillet, « Defence of anachronism as political power », Multitudes, ID : 10670/1.fa8845...
For Dormeuses and Méditateurs anachronism was placed at the center of both their artistic discourse and their vital practice. Dressing as Greeks and living communally at the outskirts of the city, they tried to embody their idealized vision of Antiquity. In their absence of historical fidelity, they were also opening space for social experimentation. This gains relevance at our present moment, in which our visions of the future are in crisis: this text thus raises the possibility of using anachronism as a tool for unlocking the political imagination and imagining new collective horizons.
