"In its recent history, collective healthhas become institutionalized in a double di-mension, the theoretical-practical and the po-litical-ideological. Institutional analysis, onthe other hand, is an approach aimed at chang-ing institutions on the basis of the practicesand discourses of their subjects. For this rea-son, there is clear potential for more widespreaduse of institutional analysis in collective healthin the areas of research, interventions, and thetraining of professionals. Collective health itselfcan also be analyzed as a complex and contra-dictory institution, since it in turn involvescountless other institutions."
