Il était une fois un 12 juillet 2006 à Beyrouth À la suite de l’enlèvement de deux soldats de Tsahal par le Hezbollah, le 12 juillet 2006, le Liban bascule à nouveau dans la tourmente: Israël établit un blocus, détruit les infrastructures, bombarde des villes et des villages du Liban-Sud et rase le « périmètre de sécurité» du Hezbollah à Beyrouth. Ce conflit va durer trente-trois jours. La résolution 1701 est votée le 14 août 2006. Depuis, l’armée libanaise, aidée par une FINUL renforcée, contrôle, pour la première fois depuis quarante ans, le sud du pays. Mais cette guerre commanditée de l’extérieur (États-Unis contre l’axe syro-iranien) a engagé le Liban dans une situation d’équilibre instable. Le bras de fer se poursuit entre différents courants qui veulent renverser le gouvernement Siniora et empêcher la réalisation du tribunal international.
