‪ 1913 de Florian Illies et l’histoire littéraire A New History of German Literature éditée par David E. Wellbery se présentent comme des textes hybrides qui combinent les formes de la chronique et des formes qui imitent la structure des réseaux. L’analyse des deux œuvres conduit à s’interroger sur les métaphores, les concepts et les modes de représentation qui caractérisent aujourd’hui l’historiographie littéraire. Les principales stratégies déployées dans ces textes sont le recours à la chronique comme forme élémentaire de l’approche historique, l’abandon des modes conventionnels de la narration et la mise en jeu des anecdotes et réseaux textuels.‪

‪Both texts, Florian Illies’ 1913 and the New History of German Literature edited by David E. Wellbery, combine textual functions of the chronicle and a new form of network-imitating text. Thus, they contribute to a wider discussion of imageries and concepts of historical thinking and visual presentation in literary history studies. Both texts will be analysed with focus to their conceptual imagery and their textual structure, as a new approach to the presentation of literary history. The texts’ three main strategies are: using formal chronicle to collect events, re-arranging narrative modes and working with anecdotes and networks.‪

Florian Illies’ 1913 und die von David E. Wellbery herausgegebene Literaturgeschichte A New History of German Literature sind Werke, die in sich die Formen von Chronik und Netzwerk kombinieren. Die Analyse dieser Texte soll vor dem Hintergrund einer Diskussion um Leitmetaphoriken, Darstellungsweisen und Konzepte der Literaturgeschichte stehen. Die Texte verfolgen drei zentrale Strategien, um sich von konventionellen Konzepten der Literaturgeschichtsschreibung abzusetzen: Nutzung der Chronik als Grundform des Historischen, eine Abkehr von Meta-Narrativen und von sequentiellen Erzählweisen sowie das Spiel mit Anekdoten und Netzwerken als textuelle wie literaturhistoriografische Leitbilder.
