"Sirena Selena vestida de pena (2000), by Puerto Ricanauthor Mayra Santos-Febres, is analyzed through theeyes of a fictitious character named Fredi Veláscues.Structured in three sections, this essay tackles threethemes in the young transvestites story. The firstpart undertakes the axiomatic analogy betweenPuerto Rican Divine and Selena and DominicanHugo and Leocadio, while explaining the way inwhich these main characters constitute, in ovo,cubic binary figures.
