The Department of Loiret is a peripheral metropolitan area currently involved in a process of transition in relation to tourist and recreational activities. This transformation is directed by the Departmental council in the context of the programme “Le Loiret au fil de l’eau – Loire et canaux” (The Loiret going with the flow - Loire and canals) with the aim of acting as a territorial intermediary notably in the development of outdoor sporting and recreational activities. The article aims to determine the actions and perceptions of the actors involved in this project, by using a qualitative research method based in particular on a series of interviews with public-sector stakeholders. The results show the emergence of close socio-economic relationships, even when there is not a consensus to support the project, as well as a movement in favour of territorial and organisational changes but for which a solid territorial base still needs to be achieved.

Espace périmétropolitain, le Loiret opère sa transition récréotouristique sous l’égide du Conseil départemental au moyen d’un dispositif spatial légitime, Le Loiret au fil de l’eau, destiné à favoriser l’intermédiation territoriale grâce, notamment, aux loisirs sportifs de plein air. L’article cerne les pratiques et les représentations d’acteurs majeurs de cette conduite de projet selon une démarche qualitative nourrie, en particulier, d’entretiens libres. Les résultats montrent que des proximités socio-économiques sont activées, même en l’absence de consensus vis-à-vis du dispositif, mais que l’ancrage territorial de ces transformations territoriales et organisationnelles reste à assurer.
