Née du training autogène de Schultz, la relaxation à induction variable, est devenue, au cours des cinquante dernières années, une psychothérapie analytique à médiation corporelle. Elle est particulièrement intéressante dans les pathologies pré-œdipiennes ou touchant à l’image du corps. Dans la rencontre avec les travaux de Michael Balint, elle s’est aussi constituée comme méthode de formation à la relation soignante.
