Une occupation littorale campaniforme à Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine)

A dwelling site has been excavated in the enclosed town of Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine - France) and attributed to an epimaritime horizon of the regional Campaniform. The site provided some dug structures but without any spatial organisation. Meanwhile three paved stone structures suggest the presence of an enclosure and the existence of buildings, unknown for this period in Brittany. The site supplied also a rich archaeological assemblage (lithic and pottery), a rarely available corpus in a Campaniform context in western France.

Un site d'habitat attribué à un horizon épi maritime du Campaniforme régional a été partiellement fouillé dans la ville close de Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine). L'ensemble a livré quelques excavations ne révélant toutefois aucun plan d'organisation précis. Par contre, trois structures empierrées suggèrent une limite d'enceinte et de probables vestiges de plans de bâtiments, inédits pour cette période en Bretagne. Par ailleurs, le site s'est avéré riche en mobilier archéologique (lithique et céramique), corpus rarement disponible en contexte campaniforme dans l'ouest de la France.
