Résumé 0

"The expansion of agricultural frontiers in the Brazilian Amazon occurred in many places, together with the transformation of its agricultural profile. In the case of the state of Mato Grosso, and specifically the municipality of Lucas do Rio Verde, a series of plans and programs during the civil-military government stimulated migration to that region. However, in the municipality, a model of aquaculture that was highly dependent on new technologies and capital was encouraged, in which the majority of the decapitalized farmers could not continue to produce without specific State incentives, leading to their expropriation and consequent land concentration."
