Petia Koleva, « La responsabilité sociale des entreprises Une occasion de repenser les modes de régulation en Europe centrale dans le contexte du développement durable », Revue d’études comparatives Est-Ouest, ID : 10670/1.grjlx8
Academic and practical studies are being made of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility in developed countries. The significance of these concepts in geographical areas such as central Europe has received less attention. In transition economies, sustainable development is reduced to its ecological aspects; and corporate social responsibility, restricted to the “good practices” that multinational firms try to instill in their central European subsidiaries. The institutionalist approach adopted herein proposes a different understanding of how modes of governance are being reworked in central Europe in the context of globalization. The idea of hybrid regulation leads to redefining the roles of the state and of firms in post-Communist economies. Its implications for social and economic actors are discussed.
