A case report of a Balantidium coli associated pneumonia in goat. The histological examination of the lung of a Goat, with macroscopic lesions of intersticial pneumonia, allows us to observe an associated parasitic infestations, both by Dictyocaulus filariat larvae and by a protozoa which was identified as Balantidium coli. The route of infestation of the respiratory tract and the eventual pathogenicity of Balantidium coli, were discussed.

L'examen histologique d'un poumon de chèvre présentant des lésions macroscopiques de pneumonie interstitielle chronique, a révélé une infestation parasitaire mixte associant des larves de Dictyocaulus filariat, à différentes formes, kystiques ou trophozoïdes, d'un protozoaire identifié comme étant Balantidium coli. La voie de pénétration intrapulmonaire de ce protozoaire, parasite habituel du gros intestin, ainsi que son pouvoir pathogène sur le poumon sont discutés.
