Veroniek Knockaert et al., « Trauma as an Encounter With the Real », HAL-SHS : linguistique, ID : 10670/1.h7rtbr
Starting from an explicitation of anticipation as a dynamic movement that takes place between living systems and their environments and that is (i) a symbolic process; (ii) motivated by a search for satisfaction; (iii) a social movement, we will question the limits of anticipation. In this questioning Lacan's orders of the imaginary, the symbolic and the real are central concepts that lead to an elaboration of the relationship between the real, trauma and anticipation. In a first step, we will briefly discuss the notion of trauma in the oeuvre of Freud and Lacan. In a second step, we will oppose trauma and the lacanian notion of the phantasm. On the one hand, this leads to a brief elaboration on trauma as the origin of the coming into being of the subject and on the other hand, this permits a characterization of trauma as an encounter with the real on which a subject cannot anticipate.
