Résumé En

Today, many successes in archaeology are achieved using remote sensing resources, such as lidars or other types of imagery carried on board drones. In comparison, Earth observation satellites do not offer the same level of performance, particularly in terms of resolution, but they do have other advantages: images easily acquired over large areas, worldwide coverage, regular revisits, image history, etc. The aim of this conference is to focus on the potential of space imagery for cultural heritage, illustrated by examples from a wide range of countries and geographical or topographical contexts. It will provide feedback on the search for archaeological sites, the geographical contextualisation and characterisation of archaeological sites, the use of spatial images to complement images from other sources, and the types of algorithms used to process these data (artificial intelligence, hybridisation of different data types). The tools available to the community for processing spatial images in the context of archaeology will also be presented at the conference.
