This book chapter delves into the pervasive issue of class-based inequality in Spain, analyzing its roots, manifestations, and impacts on various segments of society. The text explores the concept of the "glass ceiling" specific to social classes, highlighting how socio-economic barriers prevent individuals from lower classes from advancing in their careers and personal lives despite their qualifications or efforts. It examines the intersectionality of class with other forms of discrimination, such as gender and ethnicity, to provide a comprehensive understanding of the systemic nature of inequality. The chapter also discusses potential policy interventions and social reforms aimed at dismantling these barriers and promoting a more equitable society.
