Il propose une analyse approfondie de la transition de la société du spectacle à la cultura de l’information et jette un regard complet sur des segments importants de l’encyclopédie imaginative moderne et contemporaine. Le sociologue italien montre comment l’ensemble kaléidoscopique de métaphores, symboles, allégories, qui alimente les modalités expressives, se révèle être à la fois un indicateur et un outil herméneutique des aspects extra-esthétiques de la réalité.
