Résumé
We are always in need of definitions whenever we want to explore why cultureschange. We are pressed to come up with answers as to what culture might be and how the ideaof culture might fit into a nutshell. The general applicability of the answer we struggle todevise invites theoretical formulas and abstraction from specific historical developments. Italso, as a result, cautions us to choose fields from which to cull situations and conflicts thatmay help deliver the concepts we want to grasp, and invites to understand the theory ofculture as shaped by how events unfold, and how society moves along.
