Correspondances. Diffusion des modèles infrastructurels urbains à partir du Transmilenio de Bogotá et le métrocable de Medellín

This article relates, on the basis of a recent panel of European architectural press, the dissemination of urban mobility infrastructure implemented in the cities of Bogotá and Medellín in Colombia as models. The Bogotá’s Transmilenio allows to approach the updating of a well-known public transportation ever since its genesis in Curitiba, Brazil, to the expectations aroused by its Latin American metamorphosis today in the United States and Europe. The Medellín’s Metrocable offers the opportunity to capture how an industrial leisure transport operator enters the urban transportation market through diversification and concentration of capital. In both cases, their success in European media questions the conditions of choice of an infrastructural model and calls for a fine reading of their potential territorial articulation.

Cet article retrace à partir d’un panel récent de la presse architecturale européenne, la diffusion des infrastructures de mobilité urbaine mises en œuvre dans les villes de Bogota et Medellín en Colombie comme modèles. Le Transmilenio de Bogota permet d’aborder la mise à jour d’un mode de transport connu, de sa genèse à Curitiba au Brésil à l’attente suscitée aujourd’hui par ses avatars latino-américains aux Etats-Unis et en Europe. Le Métrocable de Medellín permet de saisir comment un opérateur industriel des transports de loisirs aborde par diversification et concentration capitalistique le transport urbain. Dans les deux cas, leur succès médiatique en Europe interroge les conditions des choix d’un modèle infrastructurel et appelle à une lecture fine de leur articulation territoriale potentielle.
