`titrebALZHEIMER’S DISEASE AND TRAINING OF EHPAD PROFESSIONALS `/titreb Training is too often called upon to solve situations of crisis or change. It must be seen as one of the links of the institutional management process. It proves to be an essential factor in the fight professionals must wage against exhaustion and to improve residents’ quality of life. There is a lot of training to be found for Alzheimer’s disease but it is not very varied. The “Fondation Médéric Alzheimer” gerontology consultants network study reveals how supply and demand are determined and show the lack of coordination between training and institutional projects. In order to improve matters, the general conditions for setting up training are examined and two essentials changes are recommended : a compulsory minimum training period in order to begin working with Alzheimer patients and the transmission of more adapted and flexible knowledge. It is within the context of the later point that practice analysis, discussion groups, team supervision and ethic committees are set up.
