Résumé 0

On July 14, 2016, the city of Nice was the scene of a very large-scale terrorist attack. This collective traumatic event required child psychiatrists to establish a specific system for offering psychological trauma care, adapted to a population of young children. The neurocognitive, emotional, and sensorimotor effects of “post-traumatic stress disorder” (PTSD) can disrupt the developmental journey of young children, and a rapid therapeutic response was necessary. A sensory mediation therapeutic group was established to relaunch the process of sensory integration and regulation, in a situation where psychological trauma had caused a break in development.
