"This paper presents a model in which the work schedule results from the equilibriumbetween the firm’s decision and workers’ preferences. A technologywhich organises the inputs in shifts has been considered for this objective, andthe workers’ preferences are defined over the diferent feasible work-days. Inthis context, the treatment given to the concepts of shiftwork and workday arekey innovations. The existence or not of capital constraints, the fatigueefect, and the preferences regarding leisure determine the amount of inputsutilized as well as the timing of work"
