In this text, I show how Sartre bases the notion of materialism. It is a question of returning to the ontological foundation of the dialectic which was missed by Marxist scholasticism, that is, the living man. We must not lose sight of the fact that "the future comes to man through things to the extent that it came to things through man". Thus the materiality of the action makes it possible to express the meaning of historical materialism and to bring to light the ethical tension of historical situations.

Dans ce texte, je montre comment Sartre fonde la notion de matérialisme. Il s’agit de revenir au fondement ontologique de la dialectique qui a été manqué par la scolastique marxiste, c’est-à-dire l’homme vivant. Il ne faut pas perdre de vue que « l’avenir vient à l’homme par les choses dans la mesure où il est venu aux choses par l’homme ». Ainsi la matérialité de l’action permet-elle d’exprimer le sens du matérialisme historique et de mettre au jour la tension éthique des situations historiques.
