Post-vérité, complots, fake news : d’une fictionnalisation de la vérité au mythe de la facticité

L’article interroge le phénomène actuel récemment désigné sous le terme de post-vérité, comme symptomatique des mutations du rapport au mythe et à la fiction au sein de la postmodernité. La propagation, via les réseaux sociaux notamment, des faits alternatifs, fake news et théories du complot questionne en particulier le statut de la réalité de l’espace virtuel et numérique, propice à faire surgir un mythe de la transparence absolue qui, psychiquement inassimilable comme tel, se renverse en mythe de la facticité dans lequel toute réalité est dénoncée comme truquée. À partir du déplacement opéré par l’approche psychanalytique de la notion de vérité – qui invite à la concevoir comme construction et comme structure de fiction –, nous proposons d’entendre les constructions de la post-vérité comme la marque d’une vérité dé-fictionnalisée et non médiatisée, signant un échec de la transitionnalité et propice à susciter des mouvements archaïques d’intrusion et d’identification projective.

This article examines the current phenomenon recently labeled post-truth, seeing it as symptomatic of the changes in the relation to myth and fiction within postmodernity. The propagation, in particular via social networks, of alternative facts, fake news, and conspiracy theories calls into question the status of the reality of the digital virtual space, which is conducive to the emergence of a myth of absolute transparency, which, being psychologically unassimilable as such, turns into a myth of the fake in which all reality is denounced as being falsified. Starting from the shift operated by the psychoanalytic approach to the notion of truth—which invites us to understand it as a construction and as a structure of fiction—, we propose to understand the constructions of post-truth as the mark of a de-fictionalized and non-mediatized truth, signaling a failure of transitionality and conducive to giving rise to archaic movements of intrusion and projective identification.
