Product of globalization and the metropolisation, demand for natural areas is increasingly important, both for its economic exploitation, the development or socioenvironmental recovery. Therefore, management of natural areas requires a multiscale and multifunctional look of the land and that integrates the interests of different actors. If we consider the territory as a natural resource base, which are processed or degraded by putting in value, the territorial management becomes the key to its sustainability. Under this approach the main objective is to contribute to designing a sustainable development strategy for the macro-metropolitan region of Santiago from the recovery of natural spaces. Is taken as a case study the extent of the Reserve of the Biosphere (MAB) La Campana - Penuelas, in the Valparaíso region. Proposals is progressing replicable tools and mechanisms for land management for sustainable development in fragile areas.
