Les progrès récents dans le domaine des technologies de l’information permettent une plus grande fragmentation internationale de la production des biens et des services. Cependant cette fragmentation est difficilement observable. Pour pallier ce manque, plusieurs articles récents se sont basés sur le contenu en tâches des catégories socio-professionnelles pour analyser cette fragmentation internationale. Jusqu’à présent, la relation entre tâche et fragmentation a été basée sur l’intuition, plutôt que sur l’évidence empirique. Dans cet article, j’utilise une enquête confidentielle au niveau des entreprises pour établir pour la première fois le lien entre fragmentation et tâches. Les résultats montrent que les entreprises multinationales U.S. ont une probabilité plus grande de produire par le biais de leur filiales étrangères les inputs plus intensifs en tâches routinières et moins intensifs en tâches relatives à la communication.Classification JEL : F10 ; F21 ; L21.
