Die Ausubung der Musik, als Prinzip der Harmonie, gait als eine geistige Disziplin. Die zwölf Lyu, die die Grundlage des Tonsystems bilden, standen auch in Beziehung zum Gewicht-und Masssystem und zu den kosmischen Einteilungen. Die Fünftonreihe war eine Wiederspiegelung der menschlichen Welt, die Wahl des Instrumentenmaterials von tiefer Bedeutung und ihre Anwendung, Stellung und Anzahl gehorchten einem strengen Ritual.

Музыка — принцип гармонии — исполнялась с целью духовного повиновения. Двенадцать «лью», являющиеся базой музыкальной системы, находились также в соотношении с системой веса и размера, и с космическими делениями. Пентатоническая гамма была отражением человеческого мира, выбор материала для инструментов был до высшей степени значащий, а их употребление, место, количество подвергались ритуальным правилам.
