The conditions in which Our Daughters the Nazi Girls (Unsere Töchter die Nazinen) was written, published, and subsequently banned, are briefly described in the essay “Remembering Hermynia Zur Mühlen” which follows this chapter. Zur Mühlen and her life’s partner Stefan Klein both gave their own accounts of the novel’s genesis and subsequent fate.
