The industrial crisis of the late 1970s left a number of empty spaces in Turin. These wastelands, known in Italian as "vuoti" (voids), have a material and landscape reality. A void that also resonates as the absence of a vision for the future of this major city in northern Italy: what can Turin be after Fiat? Can the city rely on its university functions to halt its demographic and urban decline? Can derelict land be used for this project to transform the city into a university metropolis?

La crise industrielle de la fin des années 1970 a laissé des vides à Turin. Les friches qu’on appelle « vuoti « (vides) en italien, ont une réalité matérielle et paysagère.
